Hello Mandeville, Nice To See You

mandeville louisianaToday (3/13/14) was a good day to be a notary. I got to meet some new people, help some regulars, and it was pretty much stress free. I didn’t make a killing, but I did well enough. The work highlights were:

  • I started the day off by traveling to Mandeville, Louisiana for a refinance loan closing. Did I mention that it was scheduled for 8:00 A.M.? That means that I had to leave the house by 7:00 to make it on time, and thankfully I did. Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a happy morning person, so I was proud that I got there on time. The borrowers were really friendly. They had a few concerns, but I was able to explain the situation to them. It feels good to be able to figure things out without calling the loan officer or title. Yay me!
  • My next stop was at a new customer’s place of work. I notarized a loan modification for him here in Baton Rouge. For some reason, I’ve been notarizing a lot of loan modifications lately!
  • I then went to help a regular customer at a funeral home. She had four pages that needed to be notarized. The customer was so happy that I got to her in under 20 minutes, and I just might have a new customer in the funeral home.
  • Lastly, I did a car title transfer near downtown Baton Rouge. Both of the guys were really nice and appreciative, and this was a very easy job for me.

As for the rest of the night, I’m done. Unless it’s a real emergency, my plan is to do nothing. I’m really tired and need the rest.

Earlier today I brought Quinn to a doctor’s appointment. We were right by the KFC at Bluebonnet and Perkins, so we stopped there for lunch after the appointment. We love KFC! This was a great trip because it included a dramatic play. There were only two employees working the whole restaurant, one being the manager and the other the worker. They were slammed and had customers stacked deep that were probably waiting 30 minutes for anything. The hilarious part was that the employees were fighting the entire time. They were yelling and hollering at each other, and putting each other down really well. It was so funny!

Stacey is back at work tonight, Alec is hiding, Quinn is napping, and now it’s my turn to watch some TV.
